Using only ht glue and black paint, painter Tom Burckhardt pieced together a floor, roof and artist’s work stations on his own hands. Aside from the amazing design and architecture that goes with the studio, Burckhardt conveys a story with his work. For him, the work is about an artist inhabiting the studio while facing a mental block which explains the canvas and easel sitting on the center of the studio.
“This walk-through environment is full of the clutter and paraphernalia of the modern painter, toiling in romantic obscurity,” Burckhardt tells of his work. “A basic lack of ideas has crippled production despite having all the right materials.”
